This Type 38 rifle was built in series 28 at the Chigusa factory of Nagaoya arsenal. Features are a 31 1/4" barrel in 6.5 mm caliber, front sight with side guards, cleaning rod 29 1/2" long with late blue finish rear peep sight with folding leaf graduated in 100 meters increments from 400 to 2400 meters, the mum is fully visible with an obvious attempt to remove it, the bolt and bayonet lug have matching numbers, 2 piece buttstock with short upper handguard, knurled safety with notch indicator, cupped steel buttplate. All parts, including the bolt, are blued indicating later production, with a dust cover. A nice Type 38 rifle with a partially ground but fully visible mum. Bright very good bore. FFL or C&R
