This model 43 was adopted to replace the model 1916 short rifle and those model 1893 rifles still in use. Very similar to the German K98K other than the straight bolt handle and stock grasping grooves. The receiver ring shows Spanish markings with "La Coruna" and a 1945 date. The lower barrel band has sling swivels on the bottom and left slide. The right stock shows a "diamond" police marking. The left receiver ring is marked cal. 792".
