Winchester Model 1892 Rifle in .32 WCF 1911 Octagon Barrel

  • Maker: Winchester
  • Model: 1892
  • Caliber: .32-20

  • Description: Serial #640174, .32 WCF (.32-20), 24 1/4” octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1911-made rifle that has retained 85-90% of the original blue finish with silvering at the muzzle, and gray fading along the high edges and projections. Additional gray fading is present along the underside of the frame, and there are drilled and tapped holes for an aperture sight on the left side of the frame. The leading edge of the loading port has some minor impact damage, and some light slot damage is present on some of the screw heads. muted original color case-hardening can still be seen on the lever, brightest on protected areas. The walnut forend and buttstock are in fine condition, unsanded, and with a pleasant additional oil finish. Numerous small handling marks are present throughout, as well as a few tiny spots of old red paint on the underside of the forend, just behind the nosecap. The original metal buttplate is mostly gray, and the action is tight and fully functional. This is a very nice ’92 rifle, in a pleasant shooting caliber, and would still make a nice small game rifle.
