  • Description: British percussion large bore fowling piece. This shotgun shows a 39 3/4" barrel with a 0.82" bore approx. 8 ga. The barrel shows a under rib. The Damascus barrel shows a large octagon base approx. 1 1/2" that tapers to 1 1/4 at the step down. The multi flat octagon extends 3 1/2" to the wedding ring. The round section runs for 28" to the muzzle. The bore rates at antique very good plus. The lock shows border line and fine hand engraving. The lock is mounted with a heavy engraved hammer . The wood shows an old refinish and worn checkering, there are some old minor surface and usage cracks that appear to be sound. There is a small clip of wood missing at the rear of the lock and a small repairable crack between the clip and the trigger. The rammer is in place and is original to the gun. This fowling piece is a great example of a market gun from the percussion era.
