  • Description: Serial #5077, .38 New Police, 6” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1906 manufactured revolver that has both the “POLICE POSITIVE” barrel marking, and “NEW POLICE” frame marking. The metal has retained 50-60% of the original blue finish with the balance turned to an overall mixed pewter gray and brown patina that has further freckling and silvering at the muzzle, and on the high edges and projections. A light turn-ring is present on the cylinder, and mild freckling occurs on the frame, trigger, and sides of the hammer spur which still retain visible traces of their original brilliant fire blue. The checkered hard rubber “COLT” grips have some flattening of the points, but are otherwise in fine shape with only a few very minor handling marks, mostly on the left panel. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism is fully functional. This is an extremely nice transitional .38 DA Colt revolver, and is in about very good condition overall. FFL & C&R
